There was a time when I thought Americans were guaranteed the right to freedom of speech. Now, I know better!

I had written several articles about the experiences my wife and I suffered during the process of bringing her to the US legally.

Imagine my surprise when I received a letter from The Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. I was accused of practicing law without a license!

I never represented myself as an attorney; only offered an accounting of our lengthy and expensive journey.

I’m sure I’ll never find out which lawyer reported me to the committee, but I know it was one of the shysters who prey on the people attempting to immigrate to this great country.

I’m in the process of responding to the accusation now!

Since I’m going to have to defend myself against lawyers there’s no telling how it’ll turn out. Truth and justice seem to be irrelevant concepts to most of the law profession.

Maybe I’ll be surprised!
